Q: Why is my PLA stringing?

Stringing usually means one of three things: the filament absorbed moisture, retraction is too low for your hotend, or the print temperature is too high. Dry the spool at 45 °C for 4 hours, set retraction to 0.6 mm direct or 4 mm Bowden, and drop nozzle temp 5 °C. If stringing persists with a freshly opened, in-spec spool, it is settings — not material.

Q: Why isn't my first layer sticking?

In order: bed not level, bed not clean, bed not hot enough. Re-level (preferably auto-calibrate), wipe with isopropyl alcohol, and bring the bed to 60 °C. If you're still fighting first layers, your nozzle is too far off the bed — the filament should look slightly squished, not round.

Q: Why are my layers separating?

Layer adhesion failures come from low temperature, too much cooling, or a nozzle that is too cold for the speed. Push nozzle temp up 5–10 °C, drop fan to 80% on the first 5 layers, and slow outer walls to 80 mm/s. Forgely PLA holds 50 MPa tensile when printed correctly — separation almost always traces back to under-extrusion.

Q: Why does my PLA warp?

PLA shouldn't warp much. If it is: bed temp too low, draft hitting the print, or part too tall for the bed adhesion you've got. Set bed to 60 °C, close the printer enclosure or move it out of an air stream, and add a brim for any part taller than 50 mm.

Q: Why is my filament brittle or snapping in the spool?

Two causes. One: it has been sitting open in humid air for weeks — dry it. Two: it is old or stored hot — PLA hydrolyzes when stored above 30 °C with humidity. Forgely spools are vacuum-sealed with desiccant; brittle out of the bag means it is a manufacturing or shipping issue and we will replace it.

Q: Why are there blobs or zits on my outer wall?

Pressure advance (or linear advance, depending on firmware) is not tuned. Run a PA test in your slicer — for Forgely PLA at 200 mm/s on a Bambu, start at 0.030. Also check that retraction is not fighting itself: too much retraction on a direct-drive setup grinds filament and causes oozing on the next move.

Q: Why is my print under-extruding?

Order of likelihood: nozzle partially clogged, extruder tension wrong, filament path obstructed, then — last — wrong filament diameter. Forgely runs at 1.75 mm ±0.02 mm; if your slicer is set to 1.75 mm and you are under-extruding, it is not the filament. Cold-pull the nozzle and check extruder gear for ground filament dust.

Q: My print failed and I think it was the spool. What now?
